At Willowbrook Psychological Associates, P.C. we provide comprehensive, out-patient, mental health services to individuals in the Houston area. Following a comprehensive diagnostic interview conducted by Edward A. Charlesworth, Ph.D. treatment may include a combination of individual, family or group therapy; psychological or educational assessment; neuropsychological evaluation; psycho-physiological assessment; and biofeedback or relaxation training. For the past twelve years, our office has been located on several wooded acres. Therapeutic areas include a low elements ROPES course, swimming pool, basketball goal, outdoor playhouse and climbing structures for children. We feel that this type of setting promotes relaxation and a positive attitude toward treatment as compared to the more typical office building. We have private outdoor seating for individual or group therapy, and may use the pool or other activities as behavior incentives with selected clients.

Our biofeedback lab offers computerized biofeedback for muscle tension headaches, migraine headaches, pain disorders, bruxism, essential hypertension, hyperactivity, excessive sweating, anxiety and stress related disorders. In biofeedback training, instruments provide a person with immediate information about his or her biological condition. The individual learns to alter physiological processes while in a relaxed state. Children can also benefit from biofeedback training as they tune-in to their own bodies and learn about self-control of muscle tension, blood flow and relaxation.

We are pleased to work with other professionals as needed and refer to specialists to assist in both diagnostics and treatment. Since we do not prescribe medications, we can work with your family doctor, psychiatrist, internist, cardiologist, or allergist.

Our therapy hours are flexible and evening appointments are available for client convenience. Our fees are often covered by insurance. We will help you collect your insurance claims by giving you itemized statements and filling in our portion of the necessary forms. You will receive a full receipt for each visit at the time you are in the office. We accept Master Card and Visa for your convenience.
